Beginning in 1997, Edward Habecker and Stephen Morris started practicing law together. They were dedicated to providing quality legal services at affordable prices.
Stephen Morris and Joshua Smith focus primarily on civil litigation. They have tried dozens of cases to jury verdict across the State of Illinois. They have performed extensive personal injury defense for a variety of insurance carriers. They also handle various business organization and contractual issues, real estate matters, landlord-tenant disputes, collections, and have considerable family law experience.
Peter Dluski has tried hundreds of cases throughout central Illinois both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He has extensive experience appearing before the Secretary of State in Springfield in administrative hearings dealing with license reinstatements. He also handles family, divorce and eviction matters. He also has tried a number of other litigation matters, and represents a municipality in prosecuting ordinance violations.
Edward T. Habecker, a native of Washington, Illinois, was formerly a partner with Hinshaw & Culbertson. After 40 years of practice, Ed recently announced his retirement. Mr. Habecker focused his practice on personal injury defense, commercial litigation, and mass tort litigation defense. He graduated from University of Mississippi with a B.A. in political science in 1975 and received his juris doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in 1981. Mr. Habecker successfully defended dozens of personal injury matters to jury verdict. He was a respected member of the Peoria County and Illinois Bar Associations, and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. While no longer practicing law, he continues to be trusted friend and knowledgeable resource to the firm.

Stephen M. Morris, a native of Peoria, Illinois, was formerly a partner with Hinshaw & Culbertson. Mr. Morris focuses his practice on general tort liability defense, commercial litigation, business transactions, and collections. He graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. in political science in 1993 and received his juris doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in 1996. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the Central and Northern District Federal Courts of Illinois, and the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Mr. Morris has successfully defended dozens of personal injury matters to jury verdict. He has extensive bench trial experience on a wide array of litigated matters. He is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois Bar Associations. Stephen is an active member in St. Vincent de Paul Parish having served on the Men's Club Board and the Education Commission. He is Treasurer of the City of Peoria, the former vice-chairman of the Peoria County Board, current Chairman of the Peoria City-County Landfill Committee, a Greater Peoria Sanitary District Trustee, and is a Peoria Liquor Commissioner. He also serves on various other non-profit boards and is an active volunteer in the community.
Peter R. Dluski, a native of Peoria, Illinois, was formerly an Assistant State's Attorney. Mr. Dluski focuses his practice on criminal and DUI defense, license reinstatements, and family law. He graduated from Illinois State University with a B.A. in political science and received his juris doctorate from Valparaiso School of Law in 2000. As a former prosecutor, he has extensive trial experience in matters ranging from traffic, DUIs to felonies. Mr Dluski has tried cases throughout Central Illinois, including Counties of Peoria, McLean, Tazewell, Woodford, Mason, Fulton, Marshall and Knox. He is also a member of the Peoria and Tazewell County Bar Associations.

Joshua M. Smith
Joshua M. Smith, a long-time resident of the Peoria area, has practiced throughout Central Illinois and the Chicago area. Mr. Smith focuses his practice on civil litigation claims, including personal and complex injury, insurance coverage and Section 155 bad faith claims, premises liability, property damage, commercial litigation, construction defect and dram shop claims. He graduated, with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with a B.S. in Finance. He received his juris doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2006. He is licensed in the State of Illinois, the Central and Northern District Federal Courts of Illinois, and the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Mr. Smith has successfully taken several cases to jury verdict in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Smith has represented clients in bench trials, examinations under oath, and arbitration (ADR). He has also represented clients involved in insurance coverage disputes, including claims for underinsured and uninsured, special investigation for fire and theft, and questionable medical provider billing practices. He provides legal review of insurance policies and litigates insurance coverage disputes. Mr. Smith is a member of the Peoria County and Illinois Bar Associations. He is involved in the community, serving on the board of a local children’s museum and the board for a charity walk to benefit the NCCU of a local children’s hospital. Mr. Smith is married with four young children.
